It’s been a winding road but that’s just added to the fun… Having studied French and German at university, spending my third year as a language assistant in a secondary school in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and completing a postgraduate diploma in European Business Administration with German, I then started my working life as a translator/interpreter for a German company based in the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast.

When that contract came to an end, I applied for a Publishing Assistant role in a local publishing company. 10 years later and having worked my way to lead designer position I amassed a considerable portfolio with the design of over 50 books, from novels and biographies to glossy coffee table art books.

Fast forward and I’ve now also got Marketing to add to my talents: a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing put me on my current path and over the last 10 years I’ve added Marketing collateral design (flyers, posters, banners, brochures, catalogues), e-commerce website design and population, social media creative and Amazon account management to my repertoire.

I completed a Professional Diploma in Graphic Design at University College Dublin in 2022 to consolidate all the knowledge and experience I have amassed over the last number of years, and I was over the moon to get distinction in each of the four modules.

I then moved on to a Professional Diploma in Digital Media Design to keep up with digital trends, including video editing and motion graphics, again to Distinction level. Finally, I have recently completed a Professional Certificate in UI Design to expand my understanding of UI design principles, passing with a very pleasing 75%.

I'm always keen to update my skills and expand my knowledge and to that end, I enjoy keeping up to date with current trends and expanding my knowledge of design and branding; there's always something to learn.
